I am done doing the weekend fishing shows at Cabela’s for now. More weekends coming later this summer. It is now time to wet a line. My first tournament is this weekend May 2. It is the FLW Minnesota Leauge division. These are Pro Am events and I fish as a Pro. I will pre-fish Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I will post a fishing report this week. Remember that the opener is a week earlier this year, it opens May 9th. Take a kid fishing every chance you get.
I got my new boat on Friday, 4/10. I took it out on the river Saturday and Sunday to break in the motors. Sure is a sweet ride.
I’m still trying to figure out the new Lowrance GPS. It is a new model that just came out. I may have to break down and read the manual.
The fish are starting to bite at Prescott. Mainly males at this time. The water temp was about 42 on Sunday. The water will warm up in the next couple of days and that should start the females to come in to spawn and put the feed bag on. Most fish are being caught on sonars with some on jig and plastics(Gulp).
Good luck and keep the line tight.
I had a great time yesterday doing a seminar at Hoot’s Sports in Perham Minnesota. (Hoot’s is my dealership for my Lund boat and Mercury Motor - more about that later). The seminar was part of their weekly spring line-up of seminars by Lund Pro staff.
While we got a little snow last night, I am itching to get out on the water and do some fishing. I am in the process of getting my new 2009 Lund Pro V 1975 IFS rigged. This is a new limited edition boat for Lund this year
. Stay tuned for more news about rigging my boat later.
